Click Speed Test (CPS)

How many clicks per second can you hit? Pick a duration, click as fast as you can, and get a precise CPS reading.

What CPS measures

Clicks per second (CPS) is exactly what it sounds like: your average number of clicks each second over a fixed window. It's a popular benchmark for gamers and a quick way to compare clicking techniques.

Getting a fair number

The first click starts the clock, so there's no penalty for reaction time. A 5-second test rewards a fast burst; 10 or 30 seconds better reflects what you can actually sustain. Your best result is kept in the Best CPS pill.

FAQ

What is a good CPS (clicks per second)?

Most people land around 6–8 CPS with normal clicking. 8–10 is fast, and techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking can push past 12–15 CPS — though those stress the switches.

How is CPS calculated?

We start a high-resolution timer on your first click and count clicks until the chosen duration ends, then divide: cps = clicks / seconds. A longer window (10s or 30s) gives a more representative average than a 5s sprint.

Does clicking faster wear out my mouse?

Sustained jitter/butterfly clicking puts extra cycles on the switch and can shorten its life or cause chatter over time. If you're testing for chatter specifically, use the double-click test.
